A set of four colorful toy blocks with embedded rare earth magnets. The magnets are oriented so that the surface of each block repels all the other blocks. The blocks can be stacked easily, but it takes a great deal of force and more than two hands to get them to stack neatly.
If I do this again I need to find a better method of concealing the magnets, after six coats of paint, with sanding in between, the magnet holes were still visible.
Holes drilled and magnets glued.
Wood filler in the holes and sanded.
